Individuality

We don't believe in you as a singular creature, born in time, living in sync with the meta. At an understated level every voice is a bunch of voices, of course. But we don't see the understatements, we ignore them.

We ignore the subtleties of expression that individuals can muster. Characters do not have depth. All personalities are paper-cut dolls.

We believe in multiplicity. Each voice in the bunch of voices I hear from your mouth is a different person. A different individual. Some with a body and some without. We do not discriminate, we do not nitpick. Sometimes we even give these multiple individualities different names. Like the special bond that I share with Alishan Shahibaug, sometimes these multiples develop friendships and find things to talk about.

The personality-cult of the individual, the notion of one voice per body, is not very old. It is a recent phenomenon that has dumbed-down our imagination. Dumbed down our psychic possibilities. The psychic is the only arsenal of material to differentiate ourselves, by dumbing it down, imploring it to behave, we leave it no expressive potential. Many would like to live the chaos of many lives, never coming back to the same house at night. Neve sleeping on the same bed. But deformed in childhood, maimed in adolescence, there is no choice. Coming out of the closet is not a choice, it is an impossibility that takes a Houdini to break through. There is a lock down.

And so the idea of the social was born. Instead of meaningful conversations we could have had inside our heads we have to deal with awkwardness, loneliness and heartbreak. The only people we can converse with are others. And makes society a necessary evil.

When at the verge of extinction, humans unable to deal with their own disappearance develop mass psychosis, things will change. The psychosis will erase all the layers of programming that we have suffered and allow the many to replace the one we are stuck with. The psychosis will finally fuck personhood and individuality for good.
